Cops confuse Krispy Kreme doughnut glaze with meth, arrest man

ORLANDO- An Orlando man says he's kicking his Krispy Kreme doughnut habit after police pulled him over and arrested him after they believed four flakes of glaze from the delicious treats were crystal methamphetamine.

Daniel Rushing told the Orlando Sentinel he was handcuffed and strip searched by police after police spotted the flakes and said he failed two roadside drug tests.

It took a state crime lab test to determine that the flakes were indeed doughnut glaze.

"I kept telling them, 'That's … glaze from a doughnut. … They tried to say it was crack cocaine at first, then they said, 'No, it's meth, crystal meth.'" Rushing told the newspaper.

Rushing was initially pulled over by police for speeding, going 42 MPH in a 30 MPH zone.

"It feels scary when you haven't done anything wrong and get arrested. … It's just a terrible feeling."
