A tame deer was found wandering around a Roswell shopping center on Saturday afternoon.

It walked right up to people and had no problem doing so as it wandered through the Mansell Oaks Shopping Center.

Several 11Alive News viewers, including Jon Weiner, took some photos of the deer. He was one of the people who helped corral the deer as a Roswell police officer tranquilized it and placed it in the back of a veterinarian's car.

After the deer was tranquilized, it was taken by the veterinarian to be released into the wild.

Weiner says the deer became agitated when it was not around people. A number of people noted how docile the deer was around people, along with the fact that it was wearing an orange collar, which made them wonder if the deer was being kept as someone's pet.

Under Georgia law, it is illegal for an individual to keep a deer as a pet.
