Shelters open for flood evacuees in Harlan County

Several businesses have opened their doors to residents in Harlan County, Kentucky dealing with flooding.

Rainfall has caused the Cumberland River to reach high water levels.

A state of emergency was declared in Harlan County Saturday night due to the dangerous flooding.

According to a Facebook post, Harlan County Judge Executive Dan Mosley said several businesses have opened their doors to residents dealing with flooding.

Evacuation locations include Harlan Baptist Church, the Harlan County Courthouse, Christ's Hands and Benham Fire Department.
