PHILADELPHIA — Hillary Clinton became the first female nominee of a major political party on Tuesday night, but many newspapers featured photographs of her husband on Wednesday.
The former secretary of State secured enough delegates during the roll call of the states to formally become the Democratic nominee for president, and later in the night she appeared in a video live from New York.
But it was her husband — former president Bill Clinton — who appeared on many newspaper covers the following morning, after speaking on her behalf Tuesday night.
Fusion reporter Kelsey McKinney was among those pointing out the focus on Bill Clinton:

For some reason this paper (which managed to add a pic of Hillary) also has a timeline of bill aging? pic.twitter.com/kX9ChasanG

USA TODAY looked through the Newseum’s archive of front pages and found more examples of the former president taking Clinton’s moment. Below are a few:
The Bakersfield Californian covered almost its entire front page with Bill Clinton.
The Vindicator focused on the “boost from Bill” related to his speech.
It is worth noting, that the former president did not take all the front pages. There were still many papers that put the Democratic nominee or her supporters on the front.
The Dallas Morning News and The Wall Street Journal had a big picture of Clinton’s live broadcast.
The New York Times featured Clinton’s supporters.
