Hillary Clinton has figured out how to pack a hall like Bernie Sanders: Invite Elton John to perform with Katy Perry.
Clinton's campaign announced that the two rock stars will headline a concert/fundraiser on her behalf March 2 at New York's iconic Radio City Music Hall. Also on the bill are rising R&B star Andra Day and Bill and Chelsea Clinton — who hopefully will not be providing musical performances.
It's a nice piece of demographic programming: Elton John provided the soundtrack for most children of the 1970s and is also a gay rights pioneer; Katy Perry is a siren of girl power pop; Andra Day is the voice behind the Grammy-nominated empowerment anthem "Rise Up."
Sir Elton also did a Radio City concert for Clinton during her 2008 presidential campaign.
