The maker of Cuisinart food processors is recalling 8 million products after consumers reported pieces of the blade cracking and ending up in processed foods.

The maker of Cuisinart food processors is recalling 8 million products after consumers reported pieces of the blade cracking and ending up in processed foods.

The products blade can crack over time, causing small pieces of the blade to break off into food and possibly result in oral lacerations, according to a statement released by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission and Conair on Tuesday.

Conair received 69 reports of people finding broken pieces of the blade in their food, including 30 reports of cuts in the mouth or tooth injuries, according to the statement.

The products were sold in the U.S. and Canada at specialty stores and on various website from July 1996 through December 2015, according to the statement.

Consumers should stop using the product and contact Conair about a replacement blade. You can find the entire product recall here.

This week, a recall was also issued for Yankee Candles that pose a potential “laceration hazard” when lit.

The Massachusetts-based company and Consumer Product Safety Commission said the recall involves 31,000 candles from Yankee Candle’s Luminous Collection fragrance line.

The jar can crack when the candle is lit, posing the hazard. Yankee Candle said it has received 16 reports of the glass jar cracking, and that no injuries have been reported.
