VIDEO: Kids fight over baby Jesus in East Tennessee Nativity pageant

When one of the sheep picked up the baby Jesus doll, Mary jumped into action!

Two preschoolers, one doll and a Nativity pageant. How could that go possibly wrong?

Well, it did. After one of the sheep, 2-year-old Teegan Benson, decided the baby Jesus doll was "hers," but "Mary" wasn't having it.

After a brief scuffle, Mary, age 3, busted out a headlock move.

The comical Christmas scene happened at First Baptist Church of White Pine, about 45 minutes from Knoxville, Tennessee, on Sunday.

The show went on after a little parental intervention.

Tana Benson, the sheep's mother, posted the video to Facebook Sunday and it went viral.

"My little sheep took the baby Jesus, breaking all the rules leaving poor little Mary no choice but to take action! Momma to the rescue tried her best to protect her baby at all costs. Definitely a program I will remember. LOVE these kiddos and my church family! Laughed so hard I cried!"

Benson said her little sheep, named Teegan, is just passionate.

"Teegan loves babies and her love for baby Jesus was a lot stronger than she could handle," Benson said.

In the video, as Teegan takes baby Jesus and shows him off, Mary's maternal instincts kick in.

"(We have) a sheep stealing the Baby Jesus and Mary with the WWE Smackdown," Benson said with a laugh. "(Mary) is a stickler for the rules. So (she) was not having it, and she knew we were not supposed to touch the Baby Jesus so she made sure that Teegan knew for sure that that was unacceptable."

So as Jesus laid away in a manger, Teegan couldn't give him away to anyone.

"Another mom, the angel's mom and I were sitting there saying, 'oh my gosh, do we go up there? Do we stop them, what do we do?' And with tears in my eyes I said, 'no, I think it'll just make it worse we'll just wait till they're done.'"

Benson said the scuffle was a humorous reminder that even a headlock can be given in love.

"These kids both love our church, love being here and both have a passion for Jesus, and so I think the message that we want to get across is He is the reason for Christmas," she said.
