These East Tennesseans could win a Grammy this weekend

Kenny Chesney, Bradley Reeves, Wayne Bledsoe and Dr. Ted Olson are all up for nomination in the upcoming 2018 Grammy Awards on Sunday.

The 60th Grammy Awards are right around the corner, and a few familiar faces from East Tennessee have been nominated for the big ceremony this coming Sunday.

This year's show will be hosted at Madison Square Garden in New York City, he first since 2003 to be held outside of Los Angeles.

Wayne Bledsoe & Bradley Reeves

Nominated for Best Album Notes

Co-founder of the Tennessee Archive of Moving Image and Sound (TAMIS), Bradley Reeves, and radio host at WDVX, Wayne Bledsoe, have both been nominated for the Best Album Notes this year.

They had collaborated in writing the liner notes on Arthur Q. Smith's The Trouble With The Truth.

Dr. Ted Olson

Nominated for Best Album Notes

Dr. Ted Olson is a professor at East Tennessee State University. He teaches Appalachian studies and is up for a Grammy this coming Sunday. He had written the liner notes for the album Big Bend Killing: The Appalachian Ballad Tradition.

This is not Olson's first time being nominated for a Grammy Award. He's been nominated for three other awards and won an International Blue Grass Music Association Award.

Kenny Chesney

Nominated for Best Country Album

Kenny Chesney appeared on the Today Show to promote his new album.

The Knoxville native and popular country singer Kenny Chesney was nominated for the Best Country Album with Cosmic Hallelujah.

The album was released in October 2016 with the two hits, "Noise" and "Setting the World on Fire." Chesney is no stranger to the music industry as he's been honored with Entertainer of the Year for four years by the Country Music Association and has sold more than 30 millions albums worldwide.

Chesney graduated from Gibbs High School back in 1986.

The 60th Grammy Awards will air on CBS on Jan. 28 at 8 p.m.
