"Sausage and puff pastry rolls with sweet and savory jam"
Ingredients:
1 pkg Puff pastry (found in the freezer section, comes in a sheet)
1 pkg fully cooked roll spicy Italian sausage, kielbasa, or locally sourced sausage (GEM Farm, Rogersville, TN has a good spicy Italian sausage)
Sweet and savory jam (Century Harvest Farm has a variety of gourmet, locally made jams, and spreads)
Directions:
Cook sausage (if it is purchased uncooked). Cut sausage so that you have 2 fairly straight, long parts. Unroll puff pastry on a large, flat surface. Smear the whole surface of the puff pastry with a thin coating of jam. Place the sausage end to end on 1 of the longest edges of puff pastry, about 2 inches in.
Beginning with the sausage edge, roll into 1 long tube. Slice into 1-inch slices. Place on an ungreased cookie sheet or parchment covered cookie sheet. Bake at 350 for about 10 minutes. Serve with sweet and savory dipping sauce.
Yield: around 3 dozen. Dough mixture can be made the day before. Cool completely and place in an airtight container after baking. EASY!
