Ingredients:
- 4 pork chops
- 2 cups of prepared fried onions (such as French’s)*
- 2 teaspoons of canola oil
- 1 clove of garlic, chopped
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 tablespoon of soy sauce
- ½ cup of brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon of your preferred bourbon
- 1 teaspoon of Tabasco Sauce
- Salt
- Pepper
- * Fried onions can be swapped for freshly prepared onion rings, if you prefer
Directions:
- Heat a large sauté pan over medium-high heat.
- Season pork chops with salt and pepper. Oil sauté pan with 1 teaspoon of canola oil.
- Place pork chops in pan and cook until internal temperature reaches 145 degrees F.
- While pork chops are cooking, warm remaining canola oil in a small sauce pot on medium heat. Add garlic and onions, and cook until softened.
- Add beef broth, soy sauce, brown sugar and bourbon to sauce pot, and mix to combine. Allow to reduce for approx. 5 minutes on medium heat, stirring frequently. Glaze consistency should resemble syrup.
- Remove pork chops from pan and plate. Top each pork chop with glaze, followed by generous portion of fried onions. Drizzle remaining glaze over fried onions for added flavor.
- Serve alongside your favorite homemade sides, such as mashed potatoes.
