OAK RIDGE — One person is dead after a vehicle collided with a commercial mower around 2 p.m. Thursday in Oak Ridge.
It happened off South Illinois Avenue near Summit Lane. The Oak Ridge Police Department said the person operating the mower was killed.
The driver of the other vehicle was not hurt. The name of the victim has not been released at this time pending notification of their family.
One lane of northbound S. Illinois Avenue north of Centrifuge Way remained closed until approximately 7:30 p.m. ORPD is still investigating the circumstances of the crash.
