No victims, no suspects after gunshots heard on North Broadway Tuesday afternoon

Police believe that the shooter approached a group of people standing on the sidewalk and began shooting before fleeing the area.

Knoxville Police have asked for help locating an alleged shooter near downtown. 

On Tuesday, Dec. 11 at about 12:31 p.m., dispatchers received at least two calls of someone firing a gun in the area of North Broadway at West Fifth Avenue. Officers found several spent pistol caliber casings when they arrived, according to KPD. 

The casings were found on the sidewalk just south of the intersection of Broadway and Fifth Avenue. Police believe that the shooter approached a group of people standing on the sidewalk and began shooting before fleeing the area.

According to KPD, no victims have come forward and the shooter's identity is unknown.
