Man with chest pains crashes into 3 motorcycles, Maryville PD says

A 56-year-old man experiencing chest pains crashed into 3 motorcycles carrying 2 people each on Sunday afternoon.

UPDATE, Tuesday, Sept. 5, 2017:

A 56-year-old man experiencing chest pains crashed into 3 motorcycles carrying 2 people each on Sunday afternoon.

According to the Maryville Police Department, Danny Burchfield said slumped over and lost control of his pickup truck after he started having chest pains Sunday around 5:10 p.m. The 3 motorcycles were stopped at a red light at the intersection of West Broadway and Sandy Springs Road at the time of the accident.

Two of the people on one motorcycle, William and Lisa Dingus of Greeneville, were transported to UT Medical Center, according to Maryville Police Chief Tony Crisp.

Two other motorcyclists were treated at the scene for minor injuries and the remaining two were not injured, Crisp said.

No charges are anticipated.

ORIGINAL STORY, Sunday, Sept. 3, 2017:

Blount County dispatch confirms a car hit multiple motorcyclists at the intersection of West Broadway and Sandy Springs in Maryville Sunday afternoon.

Dispatch says there were multiple injuries, and all victims have been transported to a local hospital.

The call came down at 5:15 p.m., according to dispatch.

The Maryville Police Department, Maryville Fire Department and AMR are on the scene.

10News does not know at this time how many people were transported to the hospital as well as the extent of their injuries.
