While Mayes was questioning the two, KCSO said Tillery started a fight with her. During the fight, KCSO said the man got ahold of Mayes' taser, and she responded by firing a shot that hit him in the arm.

Both Mayes and Tillery were taken to UT Medical Center with non-life threatening injures and were released Sunday afternoon.

KPD said Tillery and the female had an outstanding warrant for their arrest and were detained after the shooting.

KCSO said Tillery is being held at the Roger D. Wilson Detention Facility on a $12,500 bond for aggravated assault, resisting arrest and unlawful drug paraphernalia. The female with him was questioned and released.
