Investigators ask for help ID'ing man's body found along Third Creek Greenway

KPD says there was no signs of foul play after a body was discovered on a greenway off of Kingston Pike.

The Knox County Regional Forensic Center has asked for help identifying a person found dead along the Third Creek Greenway.

The body of what's believed to be a white male between the ages of 50 and 65, with grey hair and a mustache was found on Oct. 16.

“We ask that anyone with information on his identity contact the Knox County Regional Forensic Center at 865-215-8000 and ask to speak to an investigator about the Third Cree Greenway unidentified person.”

“KPD and our Medico-Legal Death Investigators have exhausted the avenues they have and we no need to reach out to the community to see if anyone can help us identify this man,” Forensic Center Director John Lott said.

He was found wearing dark brown Columbia hiking boots, size 9.5, and Fade Glory Brand bluish-grey swim trunks, size 34, with a floral design.

He does not have tattoos.

Police are investigating after finding a body of a 50 to 60-year-old man off the Third Creek Greenway in Knoxville.

Police said the man's body was discovered around 8:00 a.m. Monday along the greenway near the 3100 block of Kingston Pike.

Police said there are no signs of foul play. An autopsy is being performed to determine how the man died. Police are still trying to identify the man.
