The Tennessee Department of Transportation said a vehicle caught fire on I-40 East on Friday, blocking lanes and backing up traffic for miles.
The fire was reported after the Winfield Dunn Parkway exit on I-40 East, backing up traffic to near the exit. The department said it blocked the right lane on the way to the Deep Springs Road exit. It was reported at around 7:35 p.m. Eastern Time and was still blocking traffic around two hours later.
