TBI asks for help from the public identifying body of a man found in Norris Lake

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation said TBI agents joined the Grainger County Sheriff's Office to investigate the discovery of the man's body.

GRAINGER COUNTY, Tenn. — The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation said the body of a man was found in Norris Lake in early May, and the bureau is now asking for help from the public to identify it.

The bureau said it was unknown how long the body had been in the water. It was found floating in the Grainger County section of Norris Lake, according to a release from TBI. The bureau began helping the Grainger County Sheriff's Office with an investigation into the body on May 4.

The man is believed to be between 40 years old and 50 years old and is around 5'8" tall. The release also said he was wearing blue and black plaid pajama pants, white socks, two Figaro chain necklaces and a black and grey Timex watch. The TBI said one of the necklaces had a pendant of a cross.
