TWRA identifies 75-year-old man who drowned after falling into Watts Bar Lake

TWRA said a man was trying to tie his vessel to a dock and fell into the water.

LOUDON COUNTY, Tenn. — Update (7/5):

The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency has identified the man who drowned while trying to dock his boat on Watts Bar Lake.

James Doyle Frost, a 75-year-old, fell overboard and didn't resurface, according to the TWRA. 

The TWRA said it offers prayers and condolences for the victim's family. 

Editor's Note: In an email to WBIR, TWRA originally said the victim was 76 years old. In a press release the following day, the agency said he was 75. Also, TWRA originally said he'd fallen into Fort Loudoun Lake.

The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency said water search teams were looking for a man who disappeared after falling into Watts Bar Lake on Thursday.

According to Matt Cameron, a public information officer for TWRA, a 75-year-old man was trying to tie his vessel to a dock at the Tennessee National Marina in Loudon County when he fell, went underwater and did not resurface.

TWRA said teams deployed a remotely operated vehicle to help in the search.

Later that same day, the TWRA said the man's body was found by an investigator and was recovered by a dive team.
