The City of Knoxville is continuing its efforts to determine the future of the Knoxville Civic Auditorium and Coliseum (KCAC).
City leaders have contracted with Convention, Leisure, and Sports International to conduct a market and feasibility study of the aging structure, which is home to the Knoxville Ice Bears hockey team and a number of concerts and events.
The group will be in town to talk to a number of people and groups about KCAC and its current use. They will interview members of the Knoxville City Council on December 18.
The study is expected to recommend whether to rehab the existing facility or if money would be better spent to tear the coliseum down and rebuild from scratch.
