Officials identify fisherman recovered from Douglas Lake

The man's boat was drifting in the lake and his truck was backed down the boat ramp with the trailer attached.

The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency has released the name of the missing fisherman found in Douglas Lake on Dec. 13. 

Dandridge resident Paul Allen Irwin, 72, apparently fell overboard while trying to launch his boat at the Dandridge Access Area because his truck was backed down on the ramp with the trailer attached and the boat was drifting nearby., according to officials.

TWRA was called to the Dandridge Access Area in Jefferson County at 1:30 p.m. after a report that a boat was adrift and a fisherman was missing near the boat ramp.

A TWRA investigator using a Remote Operated Vehicle found the man's body about in about 80 feet off the shore in ten feel of water. 

Members of the Jefferson County Rescue Squad recovered his body at approximately 3:37 p.m.
