Bride, groom with leukemia surpised with free wedding

Brides often call it the happiest day of their life - their wedding day.

As a wedding coordinator, it’s Kristy Myer’s job to help young ladies plan that big day.

But when her path crossed with bride-to-be Havyn Adams, her role took on a whole new meaning.

"It was my quest to make sure this little girl and Isaac had the most beautiful wedding ever,” Myers said.

Havyn’s wedding plans weren’t going as she dreamed.

"Such a mess, so stressful,” said Adams.

Illness was hitting her fiancée Isaac Tinsley and little sister, Hallie.

"Isaac was diagnosed with leukemia, AML in January, so we've been battling that since, and then Hallie had surgery, and she had a brain tumor that she had removed in June," she said.

Her story touched Myers.

"I feel like when God blesses your business as He has ours, and the Knoxville wedding community, we needed to pay it forward,” Myers said.

Phone call after phone call, Myers put a plan into motion.

"Called all my buddies in, photographers, videographers, gown owners, shops. I called them all and kind of spilled my heart, through my tears and all of them within an hour, had called back," she said.

Tuesday night, the bride and her family, with the groom calling in from UT Medical Center via FaceTime, came to Myer’s office for the ultimate surprise.

Vendors from all across Knoxville gathered to present the couple with vouchers for free flowers, photography, cake, rings, music and the dress.

"It couldn’t have been anything but God, God answering prayers and working through all these people,” said Adams.

"I am thankful for what you are doing, what you have done, and you are a direct answer to my prayers,” said Tinsley.

The biggest gift for this couple, may just be another day surrounded by people who care.

"I love Jesus, and I know that He brings people into our path that we are supposed to encounter,” Myers said.

The couple will wed on March 10, 2017, at Hunter Valley Farms.
