BANGOR, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- A single photo of a Bangor teen sitting alone at her own birthday party has quickly gone viral.
Hallee's cousin posted the photo to Facebook on June 7th. She describes her cousin as a beautiful young woman, both inside and out.
"Hallee is an amazing person-a person I am proud to be related to. She is also a person who just happens to have Autism," her cousin wrote.
The photo, which was taken on her cousin's birthday last year, shows the young teen sitting alone. The Facebook post states Hallee was so excited to celebrate her 18th birthday party with her friends by her side. But no one showed up.
She says she sent out invitations that went out to her classmates at school and to other friends in the area.
The photo, which has now gone viral with more than 55,000 shares, shows Halle eating her own birthday cake, alone.
Hallee's cousin is now asking Facebook to flood her mailbox with birthday cards.
She says Hal loves getting mail and this would be the best birthday gift she could ask for.
Hallee's 19th Birthday is in July.
