Angel Tree 2017 to kick off at Fantasy of Trees

The Angel Tree is set to start its 43rd year with its first ever visit to Fantasy of Trees.

The Angel Tree is set to kick off its 43rd year a little bit different than in years passed.

It will launch with East Tennessee's Children's Hospital's Fantasy of Trees on Nov. 22.

The Angel Tree helps over thousands of children by letting people give to one child at a time. They work with local agencies asking for requests for gifts. Volunteers from The Angel Tree then put each request on an Angel Tree.

Angels then chose a request and purchase that gift. Those attending this year can pick up wishes from the trees and return their gifts to Angel Tree locations at West Town Mall.

Hundreds of children received gifts Friday through the Angel Tree handout.

“Fantasy of Trees is one of the best ways to get wishes into the hands of East Tennesseans. It also connects us again with East Tennessee Children’s Hospital’s Rehabilitation Center, which has provided kids’ wishes to us for decades," Angel Tree executive director Laura Kress said.

Volunteers looking to get involved can find more information on their website.
