$25 million phase of Lakeshore Park improvements complete

The improvements include a number of noticeable additions. The biggest changes to the park include creating more access to Tennessee River.

After years of construction, the $25 million Phase 1A of the Lakeshore Park Master Plan is complete.

The additions were paid for and built by the Lakeshore Park Board, which began a fundraising campaign for the project in 2016.

The improvements include a number of noticeable additions. The biggest changes to the park include creating more access to Tennessee River.

A 300-foot boardwalk diverts from the green way and gives pedestrians and unique view of the marshland at the river's edge. A 50-foot elevated pier gives users a space to observe wildlife and wild flowers.

Near the mouth of Fourth Creek a kayak launch point and 90-foot fishing pier have created access to new recreational activities.
