A William Blount High School student has been charged after allegedly leaving threatening post-it notes on the columns outside the school.
According to the Blount County Sheriff's Office, a 16-year-old sophomore was arrested and charged with delinquent by false report Tuesday after he was identified on video for the threats.
The school resource officer said they received information that the student had left the post-it notes, which stated he planned to shoot up the school on dates that coincided with spring break. Spring break is March 12-19.
The sheriff's office said the SRO determined the boy does not have access to weapons at his home, and no individuals were named on the post-it notes.
He has been taken to the Blount County Juvenile Facility and has a detention release hearing in 72 hours.
It comes a day after another William Blount sophomore was arrested after authorities say he made threats to "shoot up" the school, the Blount County Sheriff's Office said.
According to the sheriff's office, a school resource officer found computer search information related to school shootings on the student's school-issued Chromebook. The officer determined the student did not have access to weapons at home, the sheriff's office said.
This is the 12th arrest of a student in East Tennessee and Southeast Kentucky for making school threats since a shooting at a Florida high school on February 14 where 17 people were killed.
