KCSO arrests 4 after suspect broke into gun shop and walked off with 56 firearms

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Four men are behind bars after a suspect broke into a Powell gun shop and got away with dozens of firearms.

According to the Knox County Sheriff's Office, officers responded to a burglary alarm at Knoxville Tactical off Blueberry Road in Powell around 7 a.m. on Nov. 29.

According to KCSO, an investigation revealed Matthew Zachery Lane had broken into the store and was able to get away with 56 firearms. 

KCSO said three other suspects were identified who acted in conjunction with one another to facilitate the burglary and sell the stolen firearms.

Those suspects were identified as Steven Joe Bell, Terry Dewayne Griffin, and Markise Tyrone Witt.

Officers said they executed a search warrant at 3737 Lilac Avenue and confiscated several stolen guns and 3 kilograms of what appeared to be methamphetamine.
