A multi-car pursuit from Hancock County to Claiborne County to Grainger County has resulted in an arrest of a Kentucky fugitive.

The pursuit started when officers responded to a complaint of a stolen vehicle in Hancock County. It entered Claiborne County on State Highway 33 North where it was intercepted by the Claiborne County Sheriff's Office.

The chase entered Grainger County when it crossed over U.S. Highway 25 East. At that point, the Grainger County Sheriff's Department and the Bean Station Police Department joined the pursuit.

A detective "bumped" the car near U.S. Highway 11 west near Rutledge and it crashed into a Bean Station Police Department unit. The chase ended and two arrests were made.

The driver of the vehicle was Kelly R. Jessee, 36, of New Tazewell, Tennessee. Collin D. Hilbert, 20 of Bardstown, Kentucky was also taken into custody. He was wanted for felony vehicle theft.

Two women were in the vehicle. They were not charged and were later released, according to the Claiborne County Sheriff.

During the search of the vehicle, officers said they found a pistol-grip .12 gauge sawed off shotgun.

Both Jessee and Hilbert are being held in the Claiborne County Jail.

Jessee has been charged with felony evading arrest, driving on a revoked drivers license, reckless driving, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Hilbert was charged with being a fugitive from justice from the state of Kentucky.

The Claiborne County Sheriff's Office said no one was injured during this incident.
