14-year-old arrested for making threats at Union Grove Middle School

Threats were investigated at two Blount County schools Wednesday.

The Blount County Sheriff's Office investigated incidents at two schools Wednesday and arrested one juvenile for making threats.

The school resource officer at Union Grove Middle School arrested a 14-year-old boy and charged him with delinquent by false reports after he allegedly told students over the past two weeks that he wanted to shoot someone.

According to the sheriff's office, the boy is being held at the Blount County Juvenile pending a detention release hearing.

The school resource officer verified with the student's parents that there are not weapons at his home.

Later in the day, the school resource officer at Heritage High School said they received information of a threatening message written on the wall of a stall in the girl's second floor restroom.

The sheriff's office said it was investigating but it does not appear the message was written recently.
