Ready to ring in the New Year? If you are looking to get out and about to celebrate, here are a few some local New Year's Eve celebrations you can enjoy!
Market Square Ball Drop
Ring in the New Year in downtown Knoxville with live music, food and a midnight ball drop! The Bicho Brothers will perform at 10:00 p.m. This is a free, family-friendly event, but it's outside, so dress appropriately for the weather!
Gatlinburg Ball Drop and Fireworks
Nearly 50,000 people are expected to bring in the New Year in downtown Gatlinburg! At midnight, fireworks will blast off the top of the 400-foot-tall Space Needle wit choreographed music. There are also new LED lights on the Space Needle, which will add to the light show.
New Years in the Old City
Keep moving on New Year's with the Old City Pub Crawl! One wristband can get you into five different venues, each with a a different theme: Southbound Knoxville, Hanna's Old City, Carleo's, Wagon Wheel, Merchants Of Beer Wristbands are $15 in advance and $20 day of the event. Details here.
Why not make a whole night of it? The special New Year's Eve package at the downtown Hilton will include the room, tickets for two to the Old City bash, wristbands to allow entry to venues, and shuttle transportation. You must by 21 to attend. More details here. Current prices start at $129.99.
Gilded Age Gala
Knox Heritage will host this lavish party at Historic Westwood "in the grand tradition of the Vanderbilts' extravagant 1883 Gilded Age Ball." Ticket prices start at $200 and include a gourmet cocktail supper, full bar and champagne, extravagant entertainment, dancing and a midnight breakfast. Crowne Plaza Countdown to Midnight
Celebrate with your sweetheart at the Crowne Plaza including a Surf & Turf buffet, dancing to the band Boys Night Out, and a champagne toast. Party package starts at $189 per couple, and you can upgrade to spend the night in the hotel. Get more info here.
A Toast to 2018
Embassy Suites West Knoxville and Dance Tonight host this black tie affair which includes dancing, heavy hors d'oeuvres, a DJ and a champagne toast at midnight! Of course we will have cash bars open as well throughout the evening. More info here.
Alternative modes of transportation
AAA Tow to Go will be available on New Year's Eve. You can call (855) 2-TWO-2-GO to request a tow truck and bring the driver of the vehicle home.
Folks can also hail a cab in downtown Knoxville this coming weekend to get home safely as well.
