Rural Metro partnered up with Cash Express and West High School for a coat and toy drive Saturday afternoon.
They only collected one box of clothing and toys. Organizers of the event say they're hopeful to make up for it.
Rural Metro and other small businesses will be partnering up with the Knox County Sheriff's Office Dec. 9 for a "Pack the Cruiser" event to raise money for needy children in the area.
