Chris Hemsworth dropped by The Ellen DeGeneres Show for an episode that aired Monday to talk about his new film with Charlize Theron, Emily Blunt, and Jessica Chastain, The Huntsman: Winter's War.
"I thought, 'Wow, this is something I want my daughter to see,' which is women where they're in charge of their own destiny," he said. "They're not waiting for the prince to rescue them. They can take over the world or lead armies and so on."
Hemsworth and his wife, Elsa Pataky, have two-year-old twin boys, Sasha and Tristan, and a daughter, India Rose, who will be four in May.
Though India is young, she is quite observant. Hemsworth said that a conversation with his daughter recently took him by surprise when she told him that she wanted a penis like her brothers have.
"I was like, 'Aw, um, well you see, you know, girls um,' and then my brain's like, 'How do we handle this, ya know?'" While he was contemplating what to say, India only grew more vocal. "She goes, 'I really want one,'" the actor said. "I'm like, 'A penis?' And, she's like, 'I want a penis!'"
So Hemsworth proceeded to play cool and encouraging dad, which we obviously love.
"I was like, 'You know what? You can be whatever you want to be,'" he said. "And, she goes, 'Thanks, Dad!' And runs off to the playground, and that was it. So, I'll have to pick that conversation up in a few years time."
